THE PROBLEM:
I was approached by the lead singer of
Peter And The Wolves to create artwork for his band. The goal was to have an old school rock and roll character that played off of the band name, resembled the lead singer (far right) and expressed his energy and demeanour during his performances.

I started with a few rough thumbnail sketches, and eventually landed on this one. I took inspiration from Peter's slicked back, greaser style hair and put it on a confident wolf.
Decked out in a classy suite and old style microphone, the wolf was looking more and more dapper. The shiny greaser's pompadour and fiercely energetics eyes really solidified the character.
The line weight and style was very important for the intense and energized look and feel for this charismatic wolf. The full black shading added drama and carved out some great shapes and details.
